Children & Adolescent Drawing Program

Line drawing is the foundation of all visual art. In this class, students will learn to confidently sketch and refine their drawings, ensuring proportion and accuracy while developing a strong sense of observation. The ability to translate what the eyes see onto paper is a fundamental skill that all great artists possess, and through guided instruction, students will gain the confidence to approach any subject matter with ease.

This course begins with the basic fundamentals of sketching, focusing on how to quickly and effectively capture the essence of a subject. Students will learn strategies and tools that help maintain correct proportions and relationships, eliminating common mistakes that often lead to frustration. With consistent practice, they will develop a disciplined approach to line drawing, refining each sketch into a precise and balanced composition while also exploring a variety of mediums such as soft and oil pastels, vine charcoal, colored pencils, illustration markers, and watercolors. All materials are included in the monthly tuition price. 

Students move on to learn the foundational skills of shading or value drawing in vine charcoal from beginner – to advanced skill levels in preparation for oil or acrylic painting.

The price is $165 per month, unless there are 5 weeks in the month.
